Gundor's mother Gildis is mentioned only in volume 11 of The History of Middle-earth, and may not be canonical. The genealogical tables in The Silmarillion apparently show Gundor as the elder son of Hador, but this is presumably for mere convenience of layout; in fact, the text establishes that Gundor was Hador's second son, as shown in the chart above.
