Black Sword

A name for Túrin Turambar

A title given to Túrin Turambar during his time as captain of Nargothrond, and sometimes later used when he dwelt in the Forest of Brethil.

In the overwhelming majority of its uses, the title 'Black Sword' refers to the Man Túrin Turambar. On a handful of occasions, however, it is used to describe Gurthang, the literal Black Sword that Túrin carried.
