Wilibald Bolger

The husband of Prisca Baggins

A descendant of a minor branch of the Bolger family of Shire-hobbits, Wilibald was the son of Theobald Bolger and Nina Lightfoot. He was born in the year III 2904 (S.R. 1304), a little more than a hundred years before the War of the Ring. Wilibald married Prisca Baggins,1 and the couple had three children: Wilimar, Heribald and Nora. Wilibald lived until the age of ninety-six, and died in the year before Bilbo Baggins' Farewell Party. His widow Prisca and all three of his children went on to attend that famous event.

Notes

1

We are not generally given the dates of marriages for the Shire-hobbits, but Wilibald and Prisca seem to have been married very shortly after Bilbo Baggins returned from his adventures on the Quest of Erebor. At least, their eldest child Wilimar was born in III 2947 (S.R. 1347), just five years after Bilbo's return.
